We participate in many projects that are cross-geo. ClearCase Multisite has been a nightmare to support and hasn't met our needs, for various reasons. As a result, the use of the ClearCase remote client is growing. We are simply unable to use the Windows CC client for checkins at all (remotely mastered VOBs).
Unfortunately, this has made Code Collaborator pretty much unusable. To use it, we would need to implement an independent way to generate diffs for a changeset (per defect record) and push that to Code Collaborator. Since we don't have time and resources available to spend on scripting this kind of thing right now, we have been forced to use ReviewBoard remotely at another site (where the VOB is mastered). The other site has substantially more resources available has implemented a home-grown tool that handles the diff generation independent of review tools, eliminating the need for us to RDP to WTS machines in another country, and creating views altogether. This is actually a pretty cool solution, but one I simply don't have the luxury of duplicating at my site anytime soon. So...forced to use theirs.
Our whole US team was very disappointed to be essentially unable to use Code Collaborator and have to move to Review Board.
We are facing even more project VOBs being remotely mastered and accessed via the remote client. Unfortunately, whenever a project has an alternative already available, I am essentially obligated to adopt it.

As IBM Rational is even ehancing the power of ClearCase Remote Client. It is becoming more favourite and popular among the user community. Even in the organization I work in may users are not able to user CodeCollaborator on their machines because they are not able to connect it to CCRC as they prefer it more over native CC client. It will be realy nice if CodeCollaborator can come up with some sort of plugin for CCRC aswell.
